Respecting Differences

As the individual creature, people have the differences and special characteristics that to differentiate with other people. That difference is the lesson that able we use to compare yourself with other people, especially about the positive things which able to we see from them. The differences have important position in the society. The differences to be in everywhere, including in every group in society. The characteristic of the differences is there is something that makes the thing looks different if compare with the other things. Kinds of differences can include in society, tradition, cultures, physics, environment, religion, character, and the other things that can make the differences. In Indonesia consist of more than one hundred of tribes which have different culture. Why could that happen?, how to response it?, and what is the impact?. Differences have 3 points to explain why we must have respectfully with it, because:

1. Indonesia consists of many kinds of tribes and traditions. As we know, because of them Indonesia can be famous and one of the unique archipelago. With more than 70 tribes spread an all of the island, to cause every place we visit in Indonesia looks different. The different will make we want to know about the other culture. It also can we see in each year in the world, like in physic characteristic of the society, their skin color, type of face, and language. Those differences should we responsibly and proudly.

Why and how the differences can be form?, the first cause is the history. Include the process of interaction between the groups of society. So, appeared many opinion from people and will appear too the new custom and culture. That cause increasing amount of the differences.

Sometimes, the society discriminate the culture each other, because it is not compatible with their culture. In fact, based on the International Law, there is not part that explain if the society which have the different culture, they may not live together with harmonies. Now, the differences have been responsibly in the world, not as in the World War II, cause by differentiate the nation (Nazism). But, at this time we can live harmonies because the differences have been respectfully with International organization.

That means the increasing of consciousness of the society. Include in Indonesia, we must applied it too.

1. How we response the differences?, all of the country in the world certain to wish for the unite of its people. Because our nation is the complex people, we must spring up respect feeling with each other. Not only on tribes, but also in religion, culture, tradition, and characteristics. If we are respect with other different, the people also will respect with our. As the Netherlands, although they ever to occupy our country. But, now we can see. They to be interested with differences in our country. They create Indonesia as the research place, they investigate the differences in Indonesia.

That is the one of the way to respectful the differences. The other way is giving the chance to other people to do their tradition, participate to keep other tradition besides our culture.

1. Development of the differences will bring many impacts in the society as positives or negatives. Positives impacts like enrich variety in the country, increasing nationalism through interaction, and cause foreign exchange if useful for tourism area. Differences also to cause the negative impacts like appear the chaos result from wrong understanding or different opinion that can disturb neatness in society and cause victims.

Now, we can get summary that respectful to the differences brings more positive impacts than negative impacts. Differences is not the thing that use as the reason to destroy other, but differences is the things that make we to comprehend each other, because differences is come from the God, and we must learn from each other to be better than past.
